Basically looking for something very similar to the ncstar compact 4x scopes. But with better than ncstar quality. Trying to keep it under $400, and can't seem to find anything. The closest thing I can find is the vortex 1-4 pst, but I'd like something with a larger objective lens if I can.

Cheap, Quality optics is a contradiction.

The PST 1-4x is a decent option... any reason you think you need a bigger objective? Exit pupil on 4x24 is 6mm... more than enough light coming through for any situation.

I used to think the 24mm objectives just LOOKED stupid... but they work well... I've owned Vortex Razor 1-4x, Trijicon TR24, and Nightforce 1-4x - all with 24mm objectives. All worked awesome, even in low light.

if I brought home a unicorn, the wife would want to keep it then maybe she would let me buy more guns, if I fed and watered it too.

My sincere apologies for derailing the thread.

Unicorn

Colloquial; Synonym for hot bi babe or HBB, often derogatory, condescending, or ironic. A bisexual person, usually though not always female, who is willing to join an existing couple, often with the presumption that this person will date and become ###ually involved with both members of that couple, and not demand anything or do anything which might cause problems or inconvenience to that couple.

I've always wanted a unicorn... Wife says no. But I keep trying, one day she'll see the light.

ndb86, that pic is epic, but I have a strict unwavering preference for the female variety of unicorn, but hey, I won't judge ... Different strokes for different folks :p

Wow did this thread ever take a detour. And here I thought I was looking for a horse with a bloody spike growing from its forehead...

I know its a contradiction, but I'm not looking to spend nightforce money on a 10-22 plinker project. The vortex is still a bit out of the price range I can justify spending on this gun, but it will likely be going on my next ar build. The only reason I was looking at bigger objectives was for more light. But it seems that's not going to be an issue. Maybe something like the burris 4x will fit the bill if thats the case?
