Am I missing something? So dissappointed.

Love my cz shadow 2, great gun for IPSC production.

So to save my aging eyes, I cracked open the piggy bank and purchased the Cz Shadow 2 Optic Ready, the CZ RMR mount, and a Type 2 adjustable RMR 6.5 MOA variant. Christmas in March. Great cure for the long winter blues. All was purchsed recently from site sponsors.

1. CZ Shadow 2 came with 3 mags, lock, plate with the rear sights, etc.
2. CZ RMR plate came with 2 screws to mount plate on the gun.
3. Trijicon Type 2 Adjust 6.5 MOA came with 1/2 mounting screws and a hex tool. To big to use on the cz mount. I called Trijicon, they are pointing to CZ.

Questions:
1. Who should provide the screws so I can mount the optic to the plate? Trijicon or CZ?
2. If neither, how can I figure out the size of screws to purchase? If anyone knows, please share.
3. Can anyone please recommend a place to purchase said screws (online or Calgary).

Thanks, DS

None came with the mounting plate? Odd that CZ would use different threads than Trijicon uses with the supplied screws (which work fine when mounting the RMR to an ACOG mounting plate).

If the mounting plate isn't on the slide already, you could just go to the hardware store and peruse their machine screw bins with it and the RMR and find a fitting option.

Only screws found were the ones with the Shadow 2 to mount the plate with the rear iron sights, the screws to mount the cz rmr plate to the gun, and the (1/2 in) screws that came with the RMR. None of them would fit. Hence my post and plea for help/answers.

The mounting plate is removable from the slide, so a trip to the hardware seems inevitable.

Just a bit disappointing considering these items ($1300 shadow2, $90 CZ RMR Plate, and $850 RMR) were suppose to be built/fitted for each other.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. I think I'd be pretty p*ssed. If the plate supplied by CZ is supposed to mount a specific sight it should come tapped to accept the screws that that sight comes with.

It seems like the whole Optic ready Shadow 2 thing has been very poorly conceived and executed by CZ.

Think the rear sight screws are too long for the plate so I installed plate with screw came with it anyway my vortex version ended up with no matching screws for the red dot as res dot provided screws are not right size. Lucky enough for vortex someone suggested using the Glock mos screws. Forgot what I used I ended up with a pair the matches the thread. It's only been a month but my brain made me forgot it all ;). I ended up blue loktite all the screws as I have no plan to remove the red dot soon....

Your red dot sight is supposed to come with screws to mount the sight into a plate. The CZ plate for the OR is tapped to accept those screws. Your issue is with Trijicon. Tell them to send you the screws it is supposed to come with. I have a Shadow 2 OR with a plate and the Leupold Delta Point Pro. I just used the screws that came with my Delta Point Pro.
Here is a picture of your package contents for the RMR. The two crews in the bag is what you use to screw the sight onto the mount. If you did not get these, call Trijicon.

I also had no difficulty mounting a Deltapoint Pro with the screws that came with it...

Is there any chance you have the wrong plate/ a plate for a different optic? Does it have a part number on it you can check quickly?

My understanding is that he did get the screws, they do not have the same thread pitch/ do not fit the plate.

I totally forgot about this thread that I started. Thanks to all those who responded and provided feedback.

Just to close the loop. I have sucessfully mounted my Type 2 RMR 6.5 MOA RDS on my CZ Shadow 2 OR. I had to purchase the Trijicon Glock MOS mounting kit with a sealing plate ($25 from a LGS). The kit came with the correct screws with the right length and pitch needed to for the CZ RMR mounting plate. The screws that came with the RMR do not fit. Too long. Screws that came with the plate are meant to mount plate to the firearm.

I also ordered the CZ vortex venom plate and the venom just to have a backup. The vortex comes with the sets of screws. 1 is labeled with Glock. These are the screw to use to mount on the CZ Vortex venom plate.

Interesting how a $300 optic will come with the required screws while a $850 optic does not.

I have successfully completed a few IPSC qualifiers with these setups. If you are thinking about the 3 options, here are my opinions:

1. RMR and Venom sight picture are on the smaller side compared to the Delta Point.
2. RMR has the brightes/clearest dot, even at the brighter setting (daylight use)
3. Clarity on the Venom is not bad.
4. Venom get a bit fuzzy as the dot settings get brighter.

No cowitness though?

RMR and Venom does not cowitnes. RMR has 2 marks on the rear that I think can be used to line up the fron sight. Just have to remember how far up from the front fiber the dot would normally go.

I'm actually contemplating removing the front sight as well on the shadow. I find myself looking at the front fiber vs the red dot. Or, I might change the fiber to green Or yellow so they are distinguishable when I draw and present. Anybody experience the same issue?

Interested to follow your opinions. I’m about ready to pull the trigger on a s2, just don’t know if I want the optics ready or not.

Can't go wrong with either or like me both. Great shooting guns. Are you shooting IPSC? If so, I would suggest the OR. You'll be able to shoot Production or Production Optics. The only draw back with OR is the missing rear serrations, though racking from the front seem so much "cooler." I use my OR more now. I use other as backup or just incase I need parts on the fly.

Donser picked up the red FO front when using my PPQ with a Viper at a match. Shot over top of two targets at 10 yards...cool but stupid. Once you get on to the Optic the front sight gets pretty much useless. I should really remove my front FO on the PPQ. Only takes a few minutes with a screw driver.

Eddie Dean go with the Optic ready. If you decide you don't care for the gun it will sell faster than a standard notch and post variant. As time moves on I think you will see more and more guns going Optic Ready and the price gap will narrow.

Take Care

Bob
