Just bought an SR-22 and a 10/22 with a Stainless steel barrel at my gun store.. plus a Butlers Creek 25round mag to go with my Tactical Inc 25round mag..

now, i just have to wait 1 month to even pass the PAL exam and wait 2 months for the freaking permit ..

Can I say I am Nutz enough ?
I should have done that 20 years ago.. geez..
The SR-22 is surprisingly heavier than a regular ruger.. i can't imagine the weight after a very long run with all the possible gear added (bipod, Dlask rail, red dot, etc..)

They probably let him put a down payment on it and holding it for him until he gets his PAL.

they let me pay in full.. reserve it at my name for how long as I want.. till the PAL get here

Since there could be a "sold-out" problem this year till Ruger can get on top of the high demand.. (canada wise)

I was affraid to get my PAL and not getting the rifle that i wanted since there could be a shortage Ruger in the next few months in my area

i heard from people around Montreal area the worst case scenario was about 2 months after sending the PAL request.. seven + months is really BAD!

my brother just send his request.. at best, he will have his own PAL 1 month before me... its the best i can do and its still a terrible waiting period.

I'll register my gun to his name, get it from the gun store.. then go play with them, will register them back to me when those damn paper get to me. thats nutz!

The best way to get gun in Quebec without paying in full and waiting for months to play with them is... Get a friend in Ontario (Canada) to buy it for you and go play with them until paper gets in. Then he gives them back to you no problem.

The sr is a very fun gun to shoot, I put 2000 round in it in less then 2 weeks, very addictive.

Docburn, you are brilliant and made a great move. You are absolutely correct in buying now and waiting as 10/22are sold out across the country. Had you waited for your pal you would have missed your prize.
