Am I the only one? FFP vs SFP

My view on it for what its worth.....

Shoot for a day with an FFP, if you wonder how you've been getting by without it = you need one
Shoot for a day with an FFP, if you don't see whats so special and why people are raving = you don't need the FFP.

At the end of the day, it is a technology that that makes provides benefits that outweighing the cons for some shooting disciplines. It is quite possible you shooting something that would be ill served with an FFP scope, and thats okay.

This thread has a wealth of information, mostly thanks to kombayotch. Very good read.

It should be a sticky for both the information on FFP vs SFP and movers.

The advice I would give is IF you are interested in FFP , buy a cheap FFP scope , like say a Burris , and just shoot it , most people donot like change , its a reluctance to learn new stuff , I understand that , sometimes people make stuff harder that it is .

I see use in both FFP & SFP , both have different niches , in the field/practical shooting & hunting I do , I find a good FFP scope is perfect for me .

I have very little time for people that dismiss something with out EVER using IT , ie making a discision on NO experience or facts , and this seems to be the case everytime some one brings up FFP vs SFP .

Fully agreed this is an outstanding thread, great read this morning and has taught me how much I have yet to learn in this game. I'm lucky to get to shoot beside some really talented folks at a local range here in Kitchener, Twin City and have picked up more tips and tricks than I ever would have elsewhere I suspect. Threads like this are of great value as well, sincerely appreciate the knowledge shared here.

Sorry to ask but is there a long shooting range in Kitchener?

Well I wouldn't go so far as to call it a true long range but we are a 300 yard range at Twin City, longer than most private ranges in southern ontario aside from ORA/DND based ranges such as Mons, Borden, Connaught.
