Am I the only one who regrets buying Beta chrony?

in a sense, why have I not bought a Beta-master? I took her to the range only once and already had to plea with the fellow shooters to flip the flag once again to turn her on, then waited for the flag change to save a string...

And did anyone have experience with Err2 code after some shots? I can't figure the pattern, but it happens often.
 
Check Chrony site here in Ontario.I believe you can get upgrade to just plug in.Failing that do yourself a favor, if you can't read screen from shooting position,bring small binocs to range with you.
As far as error....read directions.Sun's position over skyscreens important.Also
place your shots focused on target so they are midway up and centered over eyes of screen.
They work well when you get used to them.Really!

I use a pair of binoculars to read the screen, write down the readings.
I believe that Err2 means that the second sensor did not 'see' the bullet. You need to align the chrony to your target or need better lighting.
 
I was lucky enough to realized that problem before I used my Chrony the first time I brought my Beta Chrony to the range. I immediately packed it back in the box and went back to Le Baron to have it replaced with the Master with remote monitor..... what a BIG SIGH of relief :)
 
Get the remote control--makes 'her 100% more useful. Also play around with the height you're shooting through the sensors, I get a lot fewer errors when I shoot close to the centerline of the sticks.
 
Hate to admit it.. but the Shooters chrony SUCKS!!.

I bought mine intending for indoors use.. I got the remote display and the light kit.. needless to say it does not read a SINGLE .40 shot indoors.. it will read .22 pellets, etc. but no .40's (the main reason I bought it)..

The only way I can get it to work is to put a solid white IPSC target above it and shine a halogen light up close. then I have to take a shot within 12" of it to read them.. almost everyone else I know of at our club has had problems getting them to read indoors.(4/5 have problems) (we've tried more light, less light, difference distances, different material for the shade..)

Are there fluorescent lights on your range?
 
There is a light kit made specifically for indoor Chrony use and when used with these lights we have had no problems.(They are like a picture frame light and one fits on over each screen.)
I still prefer my Pact system but have no complaints regarding the Chrony system (except they are NOT bulletproof)
There are some pretty sophisticated high tech systems with multiples of screens and utilize inferred backup and direct links to computerized data systems,but for the buck ,Chrony will do what it's suppose to as long as it's set up correctly.

I use the beta, and have no issues, it suits my needs, but I shoot outdoors.
You'll get fewer errors if you place the guide bars in the narrow set of holes. Use the wide ones for arrows and such, and put the chrony far enough downrange to avoid muzzle blast.
I don't even bother with the sky screens most of the time. It's pretty consistent. My bifocals even let me read the damn screen!
