Am I the ONLY Ontario dude still hunting?

I'm still after the deer around our area with my bow, got an extra archery hair tag left. Actually saw 2 bucks the other night casing does! One had already shed an antler. Couple misses from the early season are giving me nightmares so gotta get one so I don't have 9 months to think about it. What yah after?

Looking for another buck. It'd be nice if it was as big as the last, but that's not likely. Just want to fill the freezer.
If I get out with my cousin at his hunting spot, (Fogducker/dumbdawg area is now closed) I'll have access to his doe tag.
I've probably only got two more outings left this year. So, things are getting down to the wire. Still, even if I don't get one, every outing teaches you a bit more.

Wow, you folks still have seasons open out there? They're pretty much all closed down here :(

mind you, next to no snow either  which seriously sucks, as my sis gave me a toboggan for Xmas lastnight. :D She's an ecclectic kind of gal... She got one for her hubby & there's yet a third, so the whole family can hit the hill... All adults... Well except for "at heart", lol.

Well get going! EXCALIBUR!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't want her to change her mind!

Will be hunting all this coming week, season's open till the 31st.
Hunted last week, in -29 celsius. That was cold.

Have 6 tags we can still try to fill.

Got 2 1/2 deer & a fresh cut porker in the freezer to feed 3 of us.
Only get one tag a year here so any bow hunting is out,
& besides just how much venison does a guy need in his freezer??

Just what do you do with how many deer??

Tags full, freezer full. Still go out at least once a week for rabbit and every week or two looking for yotes. Anything to get in the bush and spend a few hours zoned out.

were done up here in 13( thunder bay)on dec the 15th

I bet i put in over 80 in the stand just for the deer... thats not including the 12 days spent chasing moose

I ended up shooting:
1 moose with my bow
1 12 pt whitetail buck with my bow
1 spiker/forhorn with my bow
1 doe with the rifle
1 fawn with my rifle

oh and fogducker.. im not sure how healthy or fit you are, but if yoru serious about getting into archery get a verticle bow...if you bought a crossbow you would get tired of using it very quickly..having said that I have never shot one at an animal so I can't really verify if what I said is true or not...im just going by what people who have switched over told me

Well I switched from a regular bow to a crossbow.
The regular bow needs more time than I have to stay in practice.
The first two shots out of the crossbow taught me to shoot only one bolt at each target. I actually hit my first bolt with my second.
It's just that accurate.
Yeah, you can do that with a compound, but not on the first two shots, it takes a lot of practice, or it least, it takes ME a lot of practice.

That said, if you have the time, a long bow does give you a bit more range, and penetrating ability.
Then again, the 265 lb whitetail I took this year, had the bolt sticking out both sides after the shot.
