Am I truly THAT effing weird? (one man's rant)

So that's why i gotta re-#### my savage .22 all the time. DOH
Ill have to remember that .

I thought it was busted and gave it to my Mother LOL

What a bunch of whiney girls!

I've had two Sav with the Accutrigger and it never even occurred to me to bother hating them. The 10FP trigger was decent, worked fine and never bothered me. The 10PC trigger is freakin awsome for a factory trigger. I love it. The blade is a non-issue IMO.

I also have several Rem 700's and that trigger out of the box is crap ... not to mention in the midst of a global recall for being dangerous. I have several Timney's on my Rems, including a super light match trigger and the 10PC Accutrigger is as good as any of those.

All I hear here is, "Whaaaa, waaaa, this trigger feels funny." Adapt and overcome princess.

I'm raising three new shooters that are blissfully ignorant of the inter social politics of fashion and trying to look cool for their cliquey friends (so far). So if anyone hates their working Savage Axis (or Glocks) that much they can donate them to my gunsafe, I'll pay for shipping. ;)

Funny, I like Glocks and Savages (with or without Accutriggers) too! Weird, eh!

The safety blade kinda irritated me and I haven't warmed up to them ever either, although I never had an actual opinion on them one way or another. This is the first I have heard of the resetting issue. But looking it up is seems to be pretty common. Even though it sounds like an easy fix, I think I too will continue to steer my money elsewhere in the future. Being an Enfield guy from the beginning of my years shooting I am quite fond of the two stage trigger, and I am truly in love with the two stage factory Weatherby S2 trigger, and the accuracy guarantee for the price point, you can't beat it. In a .308 I would definitely look into the S2 carbine.

What I love about all rifles is that between rifle basix and timney I don't have to live with a factory trigger any longer then I can have to..........so if the gun fits, buy a new trigger....

I bought a truck once that I didn't even drive and had new tires put on it, but I didn't let the all season crap tires stop me from getting a good deal on a new truck...........I have bought rifles that have gotten new stocks, barrels and triggers before I shot them, same reason.........

If I had the bucks for a Weatherby, I'd own one. Even their "budget" line is out of my budget right now.

Love my Accutriggers. Don't understand how it feels "weird" at all. Out of the box it's the best trigger going. In my collection only my Blaser trigger is better, though the 2 stage CZ is darn close too. Sounds like someone should call whine-one-one and ask for a Whaaaaambulance..... ;)

ohhh, snap! I tried it once on my dad's savage, i quite liked it.

Had a savage axis basic model last season and hated it, sold it and picked up a mint zastava 308 on the ee with weaver bases for 600, massive improvement, can't beat old world European rifles and shotguns. Tradex and Corwin arms have them for under 700. For the money the Stevens 200 are hard to beat, have one in 270, not my favorite calibre but I won't be selling it anytime soon, unless one comes up in 223 or maybe 308.
Not sure about the Cz 550 but my 527 has a hair trigger that you just push forward to activate.

I know they're might be out of you're price range but with a lot of tools, it's better to buy the best you can afford starting out and not waste money on inferior products you're not happy with.

It'll only sting once and should last a lifetime.

I got that you were looking sub $500 but since you practically eliminated all other offerings inclusive of, although not naming but by default excluding the Marlin XS7 and it's Pro-fire trigger, perhaps the extra $120 is worth waiting for.

too bad the Browning AB3 is not available in short action. It looks pretty good too.

See, to me that's pointless. But then again, I tend to have a high standard for "box stock" in everything I buy. I rode my Blackbird like I stole it the first season I had it, inferior suspension setup and all. A complete suspension upgrade later, and it's where I want it - almost. When I bought my last new truck 10 years ago they set it up how I wanted, or it was no deal.

I'd most likely find something to dislike about it anyways, so it's a non-issue. I ended up biting the bullet and picking up an Axis without the accutrigger, and much to my surprise, it's the same trigger setup as the Stevens out of the box. Smoothing it out should be easy enough, unless I decide to play musical trigger packs. But the stock is abominable. At least it doesn't flex as much as a Stevens does. At under $300 once all was said and done, I figured the flaws were just barely tolerable.

Not only am I picky, but I'm cheap too.

So... all this hating on the Accu-Trigger and bashing on various platforms and you buy an "AXIS" sans Accu??? Man, you are a complicated dude... as bad as you say the trigger is, it was the best thing about the Axis... that and I suppose it goes bang when you squeeze the trigger... and it gets a lot of students and children out shooting...
