i want to compare notes with any of you reloading for this rifle using a 155gr amax.i've been trying to develope a load using this bullet with imr4895.i've finally settled on 42.5gr of imr4895 [oops ,the target says 40.5gr ,but its actually 42.5]using cci #34 primers ,imperial and www super brass.been hearing some good things about varget powder, has anyone tried both powders?anyone with some good results with this bullet please add your results.

this target is 15 shots at 200m with irons.forestock is supported by a rest.[200 metre target]its a very good result for me at this range .click image.

I'd be interested too, as following MysticPlayers site I jsut got my M305 and bought all the re-loading stuff and bought the 155grain Amex, and went with H4895 and the federal 210 match primers.

Haven't started building but not sure how much powder charge to start

Just a comment about AMAX 155s - the ones from the first production version were longer than current ones, and had a larger plastic tip. Their BC was better, and they shot very well from bolt action rifles, but sometimes shed their tips when used in an autoloader. The bullet was redesigned to eliminate this problem. Its now shorter and has a smaller tip.
All the 155gr. target bullets, Sierra, Hornady, Nosler are very accurate. Nosler 150 BTs work well, too. Have never tried Lapuas or Bergers.

It's generally a good idea to use the CCI#34's in any auto loader with a free floating firing pin. They have a harder cup which will help prevent slam fires.
Buster is on top of this if you look at his load data.

I used BENCHMARK, Win brass, Fed 210M (but CCI BR2 worked well too), uncoated 155gr Amax and this stuff shot MOA or better out to 200yds. Hit clays at 550yds which is an absolute hoot.

I don't suggest using Varget as that is a bit slow/high gas volume which can lead to increased wear and tear on the op rod and bolt.

H4895, Benchmark, H335 and similar burn rates seem to work well and not beat things up.

Heed Hitzy's comment. If you get slam fires, change primers. I never had a problem but each rifle is different. Also, you will get slam fires if you run the action without a mag in place.
