I headed to my blind first this morning with high hopes of intercepting a new to me buck that showed up last night on my cellular trailcam.
I had barely settled in and loaded my rifle at legal time when a cow moose with twin calves stepped out of the bush in front to my east 100 yds. To my luck and total surprise they made their way right to my blind eventually passing LESS THAN 10 FEET FROM ME!!

I thought at one point the cow was going to poke her nose through the front window as she kept looking in trying to figure out what was in there and stepped forward with a look as if she was going to find out!
What an absolute thrill! The closest I had ever been to a live moose previously was 15 yards from a young bull.
I doubt I'll ever experience this again and I will never forget it!

Here is a short video of the moose in front of my blind.

I was watching her closely, lol. At one point she laid her ears back and lowered her head trying to see into the blind from maybe 10 feet away. I just remained still and watched her shoulders but she never raised her hair and after a few long seconds she relaxed and lifted her head up and looked at her calves who then stepped forward and stood next to her. I was trying to figure out how I'd have time to unzip the door and get out. I think the 270 would have barked had she stuck her nose inside. Lol

You never know what you will experience when you spend time in the woods... lots of cool stuff to see.

Its exciting when that happens, I once had a bull moose step out of the bush to the pond I was duck hunting at, and walk by within about thirty feet of me. Its unforgettable.

I barely hunted at all this year.
The last day I went out with a friend who was up for the weekend we were sitting in my truck glassing a big open cut block and a perfect young 3 pt bull moose strolled right behind the truck LOL Mere feet away and no tag.
it's all lottery tags in my region so just had to chuckle and watch him walk away.
Never happens when I have a tag LOL
