Martinbns: No, eye relief wasn't a problem, the scope on that rig is a Leupold 2.5-8 x 36mm. When I first fired it, I was very aware of that possibility, not even close.

But guess what, you should see how it looks leaning on a monster size full maned lion. The fellow who made it just came back from Africa and took his lion with an identical rig. I don't have a digital picture of it, but I could ask.
That stock wasn't a thing of beauty anyways, but the thing is my .338 is a superb pleasure to shoot. My friend tried it out earlier today. His first reaction was "yuk". His next reaction was "sweet". With some rifles, looks mean nothing to me, performance and shooting comfort does.
