Amazing that it can be that dirty!

Picked up a rifle from TRADEX and as soon as it showed up it got disassembled for cleaning.
Gun showed up week after Christmas. I have been scrubbing barrel every day since. I alternate between Hoppes 9 and Wipe-out patch-out.
using a bronze brush I scrub it 20-30 times then patch it. Then again and leave solvent in overnight. same procedure next day.
It doesn't show any blue colour anymore indicating copper. Thats about 61 days of scrubbing now and this is what patch looked like today.

Put some rounds through it and then clean again. Sometimes helps in my experience.
Also I've had a couple old milsurps where the bore never produces a super clean patch but barrel shines.

I have noticed more than once that bores brushed with hoppes #9 yield dirty patches for some reason.
I couldn't find a good explanation.
You may want to invest in a borescope (the cheap Lyman borecam is quite usable)

I hear JB bore paste is also a great product for hard to clean barrels. I've always used hoppes solvent , wipe out and g96 as my main cleaners and seem to work in general.

If it's a surplus rifle I don't see the big deal. If new that is pretty excessive!

Wipe out plus a bronze brush will turn your patches black. Try straight wipe out for a couple hours and then just a patch through it

Wipeout foaming bore cleaner, and Gunzilla is all I use now. Would have that bore clean in 2 days max.
If you have some grease, bronze brush a bunch of that in the bore and let it sit for several days. It will soften up the carbon/powder that is caked in there.

When I apply Wipeout I have a nylon bristle brush

My Mosin Nagant 91/30 that I got from Tradeex took over a month of daily shots of Wipe Out down the bore and leaving overnight whilst placed muzzle-down in a plastic cup & resting against my dresser. Periodical scrubs with a nylon brush were followed with a snug patching with Mothers mag wheel polish, flush the bore with brake cleaner, patch with JB, more Wipe out etc, etc until I got the bugger to the point where it was back to steel and the lands & grooves were clean & smooth enough to perform well with cast boolits.
