Amazing trophy room!

Ok, so a little background on the pictures. These were taken by me back in 2006 when I was in Austria. The family that owns the house are long time family friends. They are (quite successful) vintners, and have been making wine for 400 years.

As you will see, the owner is a big time (and life long) hunter. His trophy room/study has trophies from all over the world mounted in it. Everything from local boar and Reh (roe deer) to Zebra and other African game.

Boar tusks. I have a few myself (unfortunately I didn't shoot the boar they came from )

Most of them are from local boars, but if I remember correctly, the large ones in the bottom left are from Africa.

Very nice room...would love to be able to look around in there. My favorite is the Ram with the broken horn... I like stuff like that. Don't get me wrong, a nice big perfect rack sure does look nice, but it always draws lots of attention from people when someone gets a deer with some weird looking antlers. A couple years ago we got a nice pic of a deer on a trail camera... it had 4 perfect points on one side, but the other side looked like a couple branches of an apple tree... I would have loved to see that thing stumble out in front of me... that would have been on my wall for sure.

Thing of beauty hardly seems to describe what you've shown. Definately looks like the results of some fabulous hunts and congrats for that and the resulting pictures. My thought/hopes for a hunting experience are somewhat low keyed by comparisson. I'd like to go to Alaska for Moose using a handgun and that is first on the list after luck on the 649.

In the meantime and considering my efforts as a 'deep freeze' hunter, here's a couple of pictures in my den/trophy room.

Lots of stuffed Moose for my Granddaughters next visit.
