Im building my first AR, I bought one of the NEA lowers that was recently listed by SFRC for 89$. (did some back research maybe not the best decision)

This is my first AR and finding a lot of great info on the net.

I was wondering is there is a Lower parts kit that comes with ambi safety and ambi mag release. (im left handed)

Also any help on sourcing deals on parts would be great.

Im looking to build a 16in mid length upper. Want to build the whole thing to Mil Spec, with 2 stage trigger.

Not looking to spend a lot of money but don't want to cheap out either, looking for reliability more so then aesthetics with decent accuracy.
 
If milspec is your intention then you've already picked the wrong lower receiver. You'll want one that is 7075-T6 aluminum instead of the 6061 that NEA uses (I'm not starting a 6061 vs 7075 debate...that's been done to death).

Nothing wrong with the NEA lowers. My experience, as well as many more than the few vocal exceptions, has been great and trouble free.

Don't get too hung up on 'mil-spec'. Aside from the aluminum used (which is only an issue to the keyboard commandos on cgn), mil-spec also calls for full auto parts. And you can't have those. The accuracy specified is also leaves much to be desired for a paper puncher, it won't make your gun more accurate.

And, there are a few high end ar's that deviate from mil-spec, and they are much better for it. The Knights SR-15 is one example.
 
The reason i was thinking Mil spec is because I would be mix and matching parts from various manufactures so I thought if they were all within the same tolerances it would make it easier to put together.

I could be wrong as this is my first build.

It is a standard but only the govt/companies uses the lowest bidder...not necessarily the end consumer. Can you recommend any different standard that we (as end users) should be shooting for? I'd love to hear it.

To OP: don't worry about the NEA...it'll work fine. It's not a stressed part. However, only you can say if it will fill the end product you're striving for.
 
This is the only ambi mag release I prescribe to because it is contoured. I've seen enough mags fall off C7A2's because of those Norgon upgrades to avoid getting one myself.

 
Been using both the Norgon and the Troy ambi mag releases for a couple of years with zero failures. Just to be 100% honest, I have never used them with a sling.
 
Those are great places the others have suggested you look at for the parts you seek. I have used all of them for one thing or another.
