Ambi-Safety M&P 40

Just purchased one without. Anyone know if the ambi-safety is able to be added?

I think only .45 version is availave with the safety (also comes w/out)...

personally I'm glad my M&P9 doesn's have one...

Most police departments don't want an applied safety in their firearms, and really they aren't necessary, it won't fire unless you pull the trigger. Since the 9 and 40 versions are aimed at police departments, they don't make them with extra safeties. The 45 was aimed at a potential US Army need, and since the US Army likes thumb safeties it was added on. By the way, you have purchased what I believe to be the best new pistol produced in the last 10 years, congratulations!
