Ambidexterous Mag Release/ Bolt catch Lower for AR.

I thought this was a really neat idea.

Basically it combines the magazine release button with the bolt hold open catch in order to clear a malfunction with economy of movement. It cuts a reasonable amount of time from the process by making clearing a jam as simple as holding the mag release and pulling the charging handle to the rear. Boom, done. No having to hold the rifle in an ackward grip to lock the bolt back, your strong hand stays on the pistol grip the whole time.

Would love to be able to use it for action rifle if it works as well as advertised. Combine this with a Magpul BAD Lever to drop the bolt, and you have a seriously fast system going for mag changes and clearing malfunctions.

Only one extra part, a small internal pin, is added to the receiver. This allows full compatibility with AR-15 upper receivers.

Can you still activate the mag release on a closed bolt?

I don't like it for the simple fact you can't isolate the actions or mag release and bolt catch.

The idea that you need to hold the bolt open with the mag release is kind of extra redundant isn't it??? Magpul BAD lever already solves that problem and that's a more logical solution.

I'm a lefty and have the magpul BAD lever and love it.

Having this WITH a B.A.D. lever does seem redundant, however if you don't have or want a B.A.D. this seems like a handy idea. Great for when I close the bolt by mistake after I drop a mag and have to lock the bolt open to show clear. Sure, practice should cure this but I have a tremendous ablity to screw up when score is being kept
