Ambidextrous AR parts kit

I can see that ......................................... if your hands are the size of a gorilla's.

I don't see the issue. As a lefty it would be just as easy to place a finger on each side of a std charging handle and pull back, which is how the charging handle was designed to be used.

Seeing as you asked previously, I was trained to use a C7 in the CF and have been shooting for fun and trophy's for a couple of decades so not exactly a stranger to the AR system.

Well chief to each their own I suppose, and I am truly not trying to convince you of anything, but here are a few crenels of thought for you to chew on.

The military has never been know for its flexibility, and you were paid to develop you manual arms with the kit issued to you. I have no doubt that through time and effort you have developed a certain level of proficiency with a particular configuration no matter how ill or well fitting it was.

In the past 20 there have been great strides forward for the southpaw shooter, and some of us who “pay to play” would like to take advantage of those developments.

I see no issue with that. If your not able to see a reason for a piece of kit, fine. But please be so kind and step aside so that those of us that want to try something new can.

At the end of the day, the more of us that are dinting primers, the better the out look for our hobby.

This Pretty much sums up what I'm looking for from my question.
No further assistance is needed, but if you two would like to continue your opinions, I, and others would kindly love to hear how your different AR systems work for yourself (in other words, you may take over this thread as your own).

I'm not against new technology as long as it serves an actual purpose and hopefully solves an existing problem without generating new and worse problems.

What I see is a lot of funky solutions to problems that never existed in the first place or at worst were pretty minor issues. These new and "improved" parts are often quite finicky and fragile so they present the potential for a much worse problem than what existed with the original part.

Take a look at the AR marketplace and some of the really ridiculous crap people are hanging on their rifles to "solve" some perceived problem that really was never a problem in the first place. A lot of this stuff creates much worse issues than the original configuration ever did.

As a lefty living in a right handed world I am well versed in having to work my way around problems and equipment that was not designed for me. With respect to the firearms world I never felt the need to modify equipment or make special parts just so I could use a particular firearm. I do not own a single left handed firearm 'cepting my flintlock and the only piece of left handed hardware in my safe is an ambi-safety on my 1911.

Now considering that ought to put me at a great disadvantage against all those right handers for whom the guns were actually designed? Yet I have a couple of trophies on my wall to show that is not true. Why? Cause I learned to shoot what I had instead of spending all my time buggering around trying to make the gun work in a way it was never intended to.

But hey, as you said, to each his own. This is simply my opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs.
 
OK, I bought a Tactical Link from GP Tactical. I can confirm that this is great for lefties. You can lock the bolt open by extending the trigger finger and pulling the charging handle. It is quick! Plus it is so fast to close the bolt from the right side. Slap in the mag and the thumb pushes the extension down. Way faster.
 
Troy was showing off a new ambi charging handle that looks like it actually works. Ask the Troy dealer if there's any plans to bring it in.

I'd also like to try out their new polymer magazines.
 
I like the looks of the Troy ambi CH as well as their ambi selector. They also have an ambi mag release.
Troy seems to have been one of the most ambitious with new releases this year.

I'll have to give cqb services a call......
