AMC M-1 carbine ?

I have come across a m1 carrbine that has amc stamped on the under side of the reciever and HS or SH behind the rear sight . I have not been able to find anything on this or if amc did make this rifle ...the HS or SH has me puzzled as well can any one enlighten me on this.....thanks

If by AMC you are reffereing to American Motors,the gun would have to be made after 1954. Prior to that date AMC did not exist.

the AMC I am presuming would be american motors....but I am looking for info from anyone in the know....thanks for the info

thanks for the info.... there is a company that manufactured m1 carbines called H&S and the rifle I'm investigating has H S but no & I found this on the site you directed me to.......thanks
