Had a ruger American a few years back but traded it for a nice little .44. Not the smoothest bolt or high end rig but accurate and affordable.
Was wondering if anyone here owns one of these ranch models in 223 that accepts ar mags and how you like it? I'm feeling I need another plinker in my life.

i have one.
i had the Predator in 223 that i picked up a couple years ago then when ruger put out the ranch that takes the AR mags i picked one up and sold my Predator to a coworker to offset the cost of the new Ranch.
it set me back $150 but to me the $150 was worth being able to use LAR mags in that rifle.

but yes, its a nice rifle.
pretty much the perfect gun for coyotes and other small game i think.
if i was still down south id take it out for gophers as well.
