I was looking around in a American Forum and I come across this link to a VZ . I could'nt believe my eyes, when I looked at the price.

Its a VZ2008, and looks just like our CZ858 Restricted. Does'nt come with the same stuff as ours does, but thats a pretty good deal. I wonder if we will eventually get the Century Arms model like this, for this price ?

Czechpoint CZ58's run for about $900 down here as well, the CAI guns are less expensive but have had some problems. Seen some of the early ones that wouldn't work right no matter how much work was done, the receiver was just crap

By the time a VZ2008 was imported it would be close to the price of a restricted FSN or CZ rifle. It would lack the chrome-lined bore and would have the standard Century assembled-by-monkeys quality control

I wouldn't care to deal with warranty issues on an Century-built rifle in Canada.

I would'nt be interested in them if they were marked up a ridiculous amount, but it would be nice if they were available here from another source, for a discount price just like they are available South of the Border. But then again, we should be used to this, since they get everything cheaper down there, like AR's.

Oh well, atleast we still get Norinco's and SKS rifles for cheap.

century are us made receiver and barrel.

yes, the prices have been coming down steadily, maybe bcos of bad publicity but the CZ VZ58 and checkpoint in the US are still more expensive than here. btw, i dont think you get 4 mags.

about importing century, i wouldnt want a us made vz bcos they arent allowed to have a bayo lug and a thread for a FH, not that i use the bayo lug that often.

not so when it comes to the SKS , all their SKS are more expensive .

Who cares? (Except maybe the SKS collectors). Don't get me wrong, the SKS is great for what it is, but I'd rather have cheap ARs and AKs and hunting rifles. We can get SBSs cheaper than they can aswell if you're willing to live with questionable Chinese products.

OK, fellas , lets not go off track.

im not arguing that the US got it far better than us , yes, i rather have it their way . im just saying not everything is cheaper .

we ALWAYS get the hose on gun prices and ammo too. what can we do? the importers hold us hostage due to our laws and our low import numbers. then the dealers pass the hosing on to us. 6 more years to casta rica, 6 more years..............

Quite a few American's really with that they had access to the Brand New, Cheap Norinco's also. The M1A is a very loved gun in the USA, and I know that they are a bit jealous that we get New M14 rifles for $500, and 1911 pistols for $350.

The OP was referring to Century-built rifles, not the imported CSA rifles that Czechpoint sells.

Century VZs on sale.

This is true. I was surprised to see that there is a different company out there that brings in a type of VZ58, for almost half of what we pay. I realize it does'nt come with all the stuff that ours do, and the quality is'nt the same, but its too bad that we don't have access to knock off VZ58 rifles for $400 also.
