1 part question 1 part statement and thoughts.

1. My Father in law is giving me money to buy a GSG 1911 so that i can take him to the range with it until he gets his RPAL this summer after he retires. He wants to get a couple extra Mags for it does anyone know anywhere in canada you can get them? I have checked almost every company I can find all show sold out or dont sell them at all.

2. been playing around with some ammo for my savage mark II, Federal and winchester 555 (Red Box). The federal is about 300+ rounds used 1 FTF (Dud)
The winchester about 100 rounds 2 FTF and about 10 FTE, I pull the bolt back and when I push it forward i cant feed the next one because the spent casing is still there, Have to drop the Mag push the bolt forward then pull it back to get it to eject. Anyone else have this problems or thoughts? The federal doesnt do it so i am thinking it might be a different coating or somthing on the winchesters?

Thanks

Dear Virtualdodo,

We import all the GSG 1911 parts mags ect. We are currently out but we are waiting on customs to clear our shipment.

Best regards,
Scott

When I bought my Marlin 795 I picked up 4 or 5 50 packs of various Winchester rounds. I had nothing but problems with FTF/FTE/FTL no matter which variety I tried. Overall failure rate was something like 15 or 20%. I switched to Federal Bulk ammo and have gone through well over 1000 rounds in the 795 with no more than 2 or 3 FTE.

Stick with the Federal. Give the Winchester to someone you don't like ;)

We have received our shipment and it is arriving later today. We will have the mags available sometime Friday as we have to count and check everything before we do.

Best regards,
Scott

Just got to wait till June 15th for my range membership to go active so i can then order the gun to.

We will be adding them all to the website as soon as we are done registering all the firearms. We just have to finish all the paper work. We like having the paper work in order before we sell them so it's quicker for the customer.

Best regards,
Scott

same thing happened to me. a guy at the range let me take a few shots with his mkII, i used my winchester dynapoints and each case got stuck. i had to cycle the bolt a few times to extract the empty case, but when i used blazers it extracted fine

x2 on not using the Winchester stuff... I've had great luck with Federal Bulks (525 Champions), American Eagle (more expensive flavour of Federal) and, CCI Blasers. Not so much luck with the Winchester stuff...
I think it all depends on the gun. I've never had any trouble with Win., but Remington gives me all kinds of headaches. On my son's CZ, rem is the best. I can't recall ever having issues with Federal, with any gun, but CCI, it all depends on the gun and the load.

My Mark II started doing the same with Federal bulk (blue box) and Fed American Eagle (both the 40gr and the 38gr). After reading some postings over at rimfirecentral.com, I took apart the bolt assembly and did a really thorough cleaning of the whole thing as well as the breach face, etc. Before reassembling, I gave the C-clip spring a little squeeze so it would hold the extractors a little tighter. I'm happy to report that that was about 1000 rounds ago and all's well. Oh and btw, CCI Blazer ftw! The only ammo that I've never had a problem with in any of my 22's.
