Ammo Belt

These are some pics of an ammo belt my uncle had given to him recently.
Has anyone seen anything like this before or have any info?
It is supposedly from WWI and possibly British.

Yep. W.W. I and before, including the Boer War. Cavalry, I think. I believe the RCMP used belts like that too.

I think it is for the .303 British round on 5 rd. stripper clips.

It looks like it holds two stripper clips per pouch (making it a 200 rd. belt.)

Looks like a Brit P1903 bandolier for mounted troops.

Well, fer one thing, its not a belt, it's a bandoleer. (over the shoulder.) That little D ring in the centre had a leather strap that anchored it to the waist belt.

I had one that looked like that, it came with a Long Lee Enfied Mk I, with a Boer War history.

Just a point, chargers didn't come about until AFTER the Boer War. The Boer War bandoleers have individual cartridge loops.
(Unless you vas a boer mit eine mouser!)
