Ammo box identification..?

Anyone identify what this Ammo box would have carried.?.Two separate pull out metal cans inside, both have GSW (presume General Steel Works) 43 on them....Thanks

I have purchased surplus .303 ammo in the early 80's and it came in boxes like the one in your pic. The ammo was in stripper clips and in bandoleers.
If I remember the cost was around $175.00 per case.

The cans were often for belted ammunition used on the vickers. Any markings on the box?

The only other markings we can see is C.D. 107 (on the lid) and a number 9 (in metal) attached to the box which could be a later addition for some reason or another
