What brands seem to be the most durable and also the most practicle/servicable? Any opinions? MTM the best? Smart Reloader? RCBS? Berry's? (Maybe they all made by one company in China and rebranded here?)

Yes I know they are cheap... but inquiring minds want to know... ;)

I don't favour one brand over another but try to find the same colour (I like clear/smoke) and style for the calibre you're after and then buy a whack of them. Because when you go to buy more, you won't be able to find them.

I use the MTM ones because that is what is mostly available locally. I prefer the ones with the snap together hinges over the ones with the one piece hinge because the one piece hinges stay stiff and keep flipping the lid back half closed. Either type work well otherwise and have been durable for my uses.

Haven't used an ammo box I didn't like. I just buy whatever is cheap or on sale. As a previous poster mentioned, color is important to me as well.

Smoke/transluscent is better so I can see the contents.

I bought new stackable MTM boxes to replace the older MTM's that have the handle on the lid. This gained me quite a bit of space in my safe.

All Good

I use a bunch of different brands; I like the clearer ones more, but they don't seem to hold up on the hinges as long.

Before you buy a mess of 'em - think about your reloading needs.

If you're going to make a lot of ammo and shoot a lot of ammo you might not want to box every round.

I use 50 cal ammo cans filled with loose 9mm, 40, 45 for practice and plinking. I only box ammo that I use at shooting competitions so I can double check their quality. I've recently graduated to filling a 5 gallon pail with 40 for long term storage. (Over the winter)
