ammo cans

PA has the plastic ones too. Go for 5.00 for the .30 cal. They seal nicely. Not sure what you doing with them.

We had a scrap yard that use to take all sorts of leftover military trash. I recall a mountain of cans and tubes from artillery. As a kid I went with my dad there to drop off old machinery. They traded us some large cans and I dug up some rear mortar portions. Man I was stoked about that. . But that giant mountain is now gone. Perhaps if you have one close by it’s worth a look there. I took in a pail of thowaway head stamp brass to them a few months ago and seen drums full of large cal stuff. So who knows. Maybe they pick and choose what they get.

the princess auto ones go on sale for about $16, the new manufacture ones too, in tan, green or black, I have and use lots, they are great value.
This is where I usually get mine. It was also gonna be my suggestion to you..lol !
Just looked...Nothing in the new P/A flyer (book) that starts on the 25th !

Check your local Canadian Tire flyer.

They're on sale in Vernon BC

Both milsurp metal types and plastic commercial grade.

Cabelas ammo cans are actually nice.
I get them when on sale for 15$.

Pro tip (lol)
Just like PA, its good to shop in person.
Sometimes the packer seals them up way off to the side of the gasket.
I always check mine to make sure the crease is down the middle of the gasket.

The “magnum” brand plastic ones at princess auto and Canadian tire don’t seal at all. I used an empty one with a rock inside to try to displace some volume in a tank full of rust remover so I wouldn’t have to buy so much and it filled up in less than a minute. Got me to checking the rest of the ones I had and they all look like they seal but they aren’t even waterproof, let alone air tight. I ordered a bunch of metal ones a couple months ago off the princess auto website on sale for around 10 bucks with free shipping thinking I was getting surplus ones because that’s what the picture looked like but the ones that showed up were brand new, without a scratch on them

Should be able to find a .50 cal for $15 on sale at various points from Princess Auto, Cabelas, CT. PA offers free shipping above a certain spend too.

Not anymore. At least, not exactly. They offer $25 off your shipping if the order is over $150 right now. They keep changing the details though (it was $99 min order a few months ago for example) so check the website to make sure (its typically advertized at the very top of their front page).

OP are you looking for metal or plastic cans? Does air-tight seal matter?
