I hunt moose and deer using a Cooey 30-06.With the different types and grain of ammo available the choice of ammo can be confusing.Does anone have advice on which ammo and grain is more suitable?

Moose are not realtough to kill, any well constructed bullet from 165 to 180 will work. A lot have moose have been killed with Rem core loct bullets but if you like premium bullets the Nosler Partition may add a bit of confidence.

in the 06, just about any 180 grainers that shoot well in your rifle will do well.
if you want a little extra peace of mind, go with a premium. like accubond, interbond, scirocco, barnes, partition, A-frame, etc.

Winchester 180 grain Power Points, try to shoot them at different ranges out to what you feel comfortable with. If it is not accurate enough and it’s not you go try Remington 180 grain Core-Lokts. If you are capable and the firearm is you can get good groups out to 200 yards or more. No use in spending big dollars on ammunition if you don’t need to and you can practice more.
