Does anyone know of a good cheap or free software that I can get for logging and recording my ammo collection?
Maybe I'll just make up something on MS Excel that lists calibre, Headstamp, bullet type, manufacture,etc. But if it already exsists, that would make more sense.
TIA

Here's a thought. There's a raft of free genealogy programs on the internet.

Instead of "bill married sue, who gave birth to bill jr" you could use one of them to show the lineage and linkages between the various cartridges. ie: 30-03 begat 30-06, led to .50BMG and .223 Remington etc.

Here is a website that has a lot of information that might help you.

Also the following is another website that has a free database program.
Funny name but excellent software. You have to know a little bit about how a database works bit you can even have a picture with each record and and is MS Access compatible.

I think excel is your best bet. You can also insert photos and sort, etc.

+1 That's what I use to keep track of how much and what kind of ammo
I have on hand.

Excel can also do equations as well as the things CanAm said
e.g. =(SUM(C134:C138))
