Does anyone know of any sites which have pics comparing different caliber ammo? The Marlin catalogue has a good pic but it isn't that extensive.

What are you looking for? A picture of a cartridge doesn't tell you much.
Well, I'm a noob and it helps me to see the size of cartridges compared to something I know. For example, when people talk about a 600ne or other exotic ammo, I can "visualize" it if shown beside a 308.

Seeing as u used the internet to get to this site, you can further increase your skills by looking more on the web. Hell, thats what we all have to do. Seeing as there are so many calibers out there, to find a comparison pic would be pretty tough if u wanted all shown. In most cases you will find what your looking for to some degree...Keep hitting the keys and good luck..

Aside from doing all these comparisons with an internet image search you'd probably be better off with a book like Cartridges of the World by Frank C. Barnes. Try to get the newest edition.

+1 for the book K98! Its sitting behind me and I forgot all about it:rolleyes: . Far more reliable than this silly green eyed monster called a PC.. Definately a great piece for both a noob and a vet.
Cheers

No website or book compares to AmmoGuide and none compares LIKE AmmoGuide. :)

(AmmoGuide.com's Visual Comparison Tool)

You can compare the ballistics of any set of displayed rounds with a single click. (Or vice versa). Part of an example ballistics comparison report...

(AmmoGuide.com's Ballistic Comparison Tool - fully enabled for free - click on this picture!)

That's http://ammoguide.com/ in webspeak.
