Ammo for a Savage 64

Looking for the most reliable ammo for a savage 64 I hear Win SuperX is bad and that Hollow Point jam quite a bit...

I use Winchester M22 in all of my semis and it works well in all of them.

I'll second the mini mags. Have been very reliable and decently accurate in every 22 I've ever tried them in.

My daughters 64 responded really well to CCI SV. It really doesn't like any HV ammo.

American Eagle. Been using it for years with no problems. Hollow point or solids don't matter.

CCI Blazer worked flawlessly in mine

been shooting primarily Blazer lead, have shot cci, Winchester and Remington as well. The only issue I have had is with hollow point golden bullet jamming, simple fix was to take a 1/4" round file to the feed ramp in the magazine and smoothed out the sharp edge on the ramp and problem solved. My 64 eats all ammo without fail to feed issues now!

Cheap/bulk CCI Blasers (anything CCI except "CB or Quiet"), Federal Champions, AE work well. Usually solid, round nosed ammo. Mine did actually like Remington sub-sonic, and shot well with it. Mine tend to not like Winchester ammo (555, etc). Another poster on here had the opposite experience, and his 64 loved winchester bulk.

I adore the 64, but they can be finicky eaters. Test a few different kinds, and keep a note of what cycled best in yours. Keep the action dry, and lube only for rust prevention/storage. Clean every 500-1000 rds.

I picked up a brand new Savage 64 for my stepson in 2011 along with a brick of Winchester M22. Worked very well. I cannot remember any fte's or ftf's? Kid had a ball shooting the daylights out of some zombie targets he picked out.
