What type of gun will fire this ammo? The total length of the shell is 7", brass is 4 1/2" long and has 20mm MKE FSC 1942 stamped on the end. I don't know what material the end is made of it is very smooth and off white in color and the tip screws off.

Photo's?

Also I don't understand the second sentence.

Material meaning it's not lead. Maybe steel since the tip is threaded on. I will see if my wife will take a picture of it. I have no clue how to get a picture from the camera to the computer.

Hello,

I agree as well.

From a 20mm Cannon of some sort. Could also be from a 20mm Oerlikon. These were widely used during ww2 on ships and vehicles. The Hispano was mainly used on planes.

It does sound like a Oerlikon or Hispano round. The Oerlikon round would have a rebated rim (rim smaller than the base of the cartridge) while the Hispano would have a normal rimless base.

The MKE marking sounds german but I am not sure... German rounds had a Waffenamt (eagle stamp) usually...
