Federal vs American Eagle and Thunderbolts

Is Federal stuff better than American Eagle High Velocity or Thunderbolts?

I find the Federal Champion and American Eagle .22 about equivalent. I don't like Thunderbolt at all. I had 2 or three bricks of Thunderbolt and couldn't wait t o burn it off and I won't buy any more.

I've decided I'm never gonna buy bulk cheap stuff again.

Even at 50 bucks or so a brick of CCI velocitors is a way better value than cheapo rounds.

It's always best to call your local Wal*Mart & Canadian Tire stores in the morning when the phone lines are not busy and provide them with their part #'s to find out price and quantities in stock.Usually a large percentage of their inventory particularly rimfire and shotgun shell bulk packs are NOT FOUND ON THE SHELVES BEHIND THE COUNTER but instead out back in the warehouse.Below is the latest part #'s and prices I have compiled for all my CGN Gun nutz friends:

.22LR bulk packs:

Federal Premium Bulk Pack=36 grains copper washed hollow points, blue colored box,quantity:525.
Canadian Tire # 75-1196=$17+tx

Winchester X-Pert 22 hollow points=36 grains copper washed lead & not lubed,white colored box,quantity:500
Canadian Tire # 75-1203-4=$16.00+tx
Wal*Mart # 002089210127=$14.75+tx

Winchester Dynapoints=40 grains copper washed lead & not lubed (with grease),Winchester # WD22LRB (same as Wildcats # WW22LR which come in a box of only 50 rounds),quantity:500.
Wal*Mart # 002089210116=$16.47+tx

Does anyone have the Canadian Tire # for Dynapoints?.Thanks.

All this excitement over a couple $$ a brick.

I'd rather $3 to a real gun dealer, thanx.

Well around Dartmouth/Halifax area there are only maybe 5 gun shops and I only walked into:

Lovett's Recycling & General Store
925 Main St
Dartmouth
Ph:434-6988

and the place stunk (the store is 60 or so years old and falling apart) as well as the old guy there was rude and didn't have the enthusiasm to make a sale on ammo.He had a brick of American Eagle (ten boxes of of .22LR ammo each containing 50 rounds) at about $19+tx.

I would prefer to walk into Wal*Mart or Canadian Tire 7 days a week day or night and purchase fresh ammo for less.

Those $17 Federal Champion 525 rd bulk packs cost $28 at my local gun shop. I do throw business their way (mostly my 12 ga trap loads), but the prices on some things are ridiculous.

See guys? Support the dealers who actually have all the rest of the paraphanalia, including guns, on the shelf.

Whine and snivel all you want Joe...at least you've got Wolverine in town. And right next to Subway too. Me? I have to wait until I go on vacation!

Snivel?!? Huh.

I'll have you know that if you had placed an order with me, AS I HAD ONCE SO GENEROUSLY OFFERED:rolleyes:, you would likely be getting your order handed to you right now. I dropped a buddy with a PAL at the airport this very morning for the 10:30 flight to that god-forsaken, gun-storeless hell hole you live in.

Hah! You snooze, you lose!

Your turn to snivel.....;):p
