Ammo Left on Porch

Yeah, I had a couple crates of 7.62x39 left on mine. And they once let my dad sign for a Ruger revolver. This time though, for the CanadaAmmo 1911 deal, it was signature required and they did not just drop it off. I got the form to sign and stick on my door for the second attempt, but the delivery driver had written over the special instructions section "Signature in person required" so I assume they still wouldn't have left it if I used that. I called and had them hold it at the depot for me.

Thats the new policy for Can ammo deliveries by Canpar now.
You either have to have someone at home to personally sign on Canpars delivery device or go to their local terminal.
Signed pieces of paper not allowed anymore for Can-Ammo shipments.
When i recently received a delivery a warning message popped up on the delivery device screen when driver gave it to me to sign
reminding him signed papers and no signatures are not allowed, not even if you have the canpar bar code sticker at your door (like i do)
he can't use it for your signature for Can-Am (Disco tech).

Canada Post is still the way to go. If you miss your delivery, they either come back again or you pick it up at the post office. Signature is always required and never gets left at the doorstep. Don't know what happens with CanPar but none the less, that is not good.

Canpar (in Ontario terminals anyways) holds packages for 5 days after the second attempt at your house is made.

My crate of surplus ammunition got delivered today and Canpar left it on my front porch. Tracking website says signature was not required. Is ammunition usually shipped without a signature?

It's all good. I came home from work once and my new .357 magnum revolver was sitting on my doorstep.

I have never dealt with CanPar however I have dealt with canada post & if you changed canpar to canada post in most of these replies that would be my experience with the government mail agency. They leave things that require sigs in plain sight. By the sounds of it they are very comparable in screwing the pooch.

Well, I feel much better...it looks like CanPar finally managed to find my house and drop off some ammo :HR:
