what is a good price for non-corrosive ammo for SKS? I found Barnaul 123gr FMJ at 219CAD/500 rounds. Would this be a reasonable price or should I wait for some boxing day sale?

try again tomorrow or a few days this site was working yesterday. They have a store in Beavercreek in Richmond Hill just north of Toronto. Canada Ammo has Norinco for the same price 1200rds for 419.99, Tenda is 600rds for $199.99 so technically you save $20. This seems to be the cheapest retail price right now. If your in no rush wait for boxing day.

I just got the Boxing Week flyer from Cabelas, $259.99 for a case of 1,500 rds. Not a bad price, but only while quantities last. Corrosive no doubt but hey, cleaning is not a big deal. I just might try to get a case to add to my stockpile.

Does anyone know if cabelas ships crates of surplus ammo for free. Their website says it might not ship for free due to being hazardous goods. Just wondering if anyone has had it shipped for free or not

Some people order and get a phone call to pay more $ for the additional shipping costs while others were not phoned up and asked to pay additionally. Take a chance, worst case you either cancel the order or pony up the extra shipping $

$259 for 1500 rds chinese surplus today at cabelas. Corrosive is not as bad as you think. Just takes the effort of teardown and rinse after a good shooting session. Don't waste your time and fire 5 rounds. Blow off a 100 or more then just spray some water down the barrel (syringe of water works fine) then drive home. When home field strip as u may do anyway dump metal parts in a water pale and hose the barrel. Then dry (andirc9mpressor is possiblel) spray your parts with some oil reassemble and done. You can when partially assembled pass a couple patches down the barrel with hippest then oil and done. Maybe 20mins tops. Just don't leave it overnight or till next week like you can do with factory.
My advice shoot factory in the winter and shoot surplus in the summer when you can easily use the hose without freezing things.

To put that price in perspective, I bought 500 rounds last year for $179.99. This year (6 months ago) I bought 500 rounds for $199.99. The price is going up and up. Barnaul is good stuff, and it's all I use now.
