Friday, after the gun show, I was in a big Walmart in south Calgary on McLeod Trail. I headed for the ammo shelf. It seems that they may have not heard that ammo has gone way up. Federal blue box 30-06 was about $24, some 30-30 was still around $20 <>, and Federal 100 packs of 12 ga. Was still at $34.

Federal blue box .303 brit 180gr is sold out at our Walmart...*wink wink*

btw....is this blue box ammo any good for hunting?

These were originally loaded with Sierra ProHunters, then changed to Speer Hot-Cores at least a decade ago; I think they still are using the Speers. My commercially-sporterized #1Mk3* shoots them into 1"-1.1/2" 5-shot groups at 100m, deer have dropped just as you'd expect with Speer Hot-Cor bullets, and I would have no hesitation to use them on moose, if I had some 20-something kids or grandkids to help pack that much meat out.

Regards,
Joel
