Ammo prices

Did you read my original post?

It's more complex that it appears. I have owned 3 commercial ranges and consulted for numerous others, but I'm still open to new ideas. Keep in mind it has to make business sense, not just something you personally like.

Seems to me there is another range in town that allows you to shoot your own ammo (reloaded or factory) in your own firearms. Yes you have to purchase their ammo to shoot in their guns but I can buy a brick of .22LR and sit in the booth all afternoon if I'm using my own gun...........maybe a different business model but it definitely suits me and one I like better.

its a fun place to spend a few hours, i went with friends, that decided to shop the mall, thats not my thing, shooting, in the winter , in warmth is..lol, i try and stop in every time i`m in the city and like all the others have said, you gotta pay to play, and if you want to play there, you pay their prices, its a business, thats all, and for ordering anything in without a deposit then not liking the new price, well , thats just silly, dollar goes up and down, so does the market,

In the end to each their own. I still naively live in a world where I believe in handshakes and someone's word. And you have mine that if our dollar went up, I would still have been happy to pay the price he verbally stated. If you did not catch that I wanted to put a deposit on it, well you did not catch that. I completely agree that if you want to play (there), you have to pay. I don't, others do.

Mr Friendly, if that is your real name, I didn't delete anything. I deliberately left it all up, everything. It's possible one of the mods or someone did, but I didn't. What is your question? I'll answer it right now.

Guess what Mr Friendly, I just talked to Travis and he did not delete anything either. That means what you wrote is NOT true. That might hurt your credibility a bit, ya think?

KK, you are absolutely right! I had a brain fart.

I hadn't a question, but I had made a comment and didn't see it. I was looking for it after my back and forth with Gatehouse with his aspirations to be a ballerina...but it seems I posted it before that when I thought it was after.

I am humbled and I offer my apologies. my post has been retracted.

is it the stockade or cat'o'nine tails for me? :(

I was a member of the Firing Line for many years. I'm not a member of WW because I can't bring my own ammo for my own guns. But, it's their place and they are in the business to make money and they can do whatever they want. Plus floor space in WEM is expensive and so is liability insurance. But on the other hand, if I was a member I would have bought a lot of guns and spent a ton of money there as I did when I was at the Firing Line. Now I order just about everything online. I think I've only been there 6x since they have opened in WEM. Somehow I get this feeling that they only want walk in customers that want to try out shooting a handgun and not members tying up a lane. I could be wrong but, would they not move a whole lot more inventory in guns and accessories if they had a ton of members? I can't see very many walk-in wannabee's buying a lot of stuff from the store.

Our ranges in Calgary operate on the same system. If you rent the firearm you buy the house ammo. If you own your own firearm you buy a day pass and shoot your preferred ammo. This system was my first contact with the fire arm world and allowed me to try multiple firearms under the guidance of a RO before investing.

Hey KK, I know that we have to use your ammo for our and your guns. What if I want to bring in one of my antiques to shoot? I doubt you carry 455 webley, which is the most common antique round.

if they shoot your guns, they buy your ammo. that's fair. :)

NO. Even if you have a membership and bring your own firearms to shoot you still have to buy the WW expensive ammo if you want to shoot.
You need to remember that this is a business, not a club.

I have shot there before I had a license. Totally cool experience for the first time I shot a hand gun. I think if you have your own gun and you have purchased a membership to shoot wouldn't you shoot your own ammo?? Especially if you reload... If you have a membership and rent a gun you should shoot the range ammo. You could buy some #### ammo and could possibly wreck their gun. Seems fair.. Its not like its a outdoor range on some farm property.

if you rent THEIR guns i think it's very fair that they want you to use their ammo, but if you're using YOUR guns,it's pretty rotten to force you to buy their overpriced ammo, now if their ammo is the same price as your usual store, then it would be a nice move to buy theirs .
