Has anyone noticed that 10 packs of 50 .22 are cheaper, than 1 pack of 500?
And why does CTC sell 500 .22 for $18, while Walmart for only $12? I knew Walmart was a tad cheaper overall but liked an idea of buying Canadian, but when it comes to buying the same US made stuff, 1.5 times cheaper is certainly better... Not that I will ever buy from them...

Nobody makes 22 ammo in Canada, except maybe SNC, but they only sell to the DND. Wal-Mart is the largest retailer of guns and ammo in North America, plus they only make 15% markup. Volume is there business.

Great to shop at Walmart, had them ask me if I was using my .22 ammo in a rifle or handgun, if you say handgun they refuse sale. I said 1/2 a box in the rifle and 1/2 a box in a pistol, clerk gave me a look of incomprehension and sold me the ammo.

Good line! I would have just said "need to know basis, and you don't need to know"
Or if i was feeling extra fiesty, I might have said "Sawed off rifle"

Canadian Tire... a real smart bunch!
Not so long ago, I stop at the nearest CT to get some Federal Lightning. They didn't have any brick... So I decided to take the remaining 50rds box on the shelve. Was I in for a surprise!

Got to the cash register, $16.99 per box! I told them that this is the price for the 500rds brick... the cashier calls in the store manager who confirms the price... $16.99 per 50  this is high velocity stuff he tells me, it's more expensive... I just shook my head and walked away.

That is a shining example of why I like to support my local gun shop:D . They at least know the difference between a box and a brick!
