I have a Para Ordnance P16-40 and it has been working flawless since I
purchased it. I have been running only factory rounds through it. (.40 S&W 180g).

Recently I purchased some reloaded rounds (180g) to cut cost and had problems with my
slide staying open after the last round had been ejected. Could these reloads be
loaded light and that is the reason? It happened about 3 or 4 times on 300 rounds.

3 or 4 rounds out of 300 isn't too bad. Still not good though. It likely is the ammo. Factory ammo work ok?
Using other people's reloads isn't a good idea. You really have no idea if the guy knew what he was doing or what powder he used.

Yes, I havent had any problems with the Factory. I have a feeling it is the reloads as well. Time for me to get a press I think.

All my semi-autos the slide stays open after the last round is fired and ejected.
I know nothing about the Para Ordnance P16-40. Close the slide, take an empty mag and shove it in the gun. Pull the slide back to the end and slowly let it go forward. In most guns it will catch on the mag follower and stop the slide from closing. my 2 cents
