For those with a weatherby S2’s in 30-06. What ammo do you shoot to get the sub-moa acuracy the manufacturer guarantees ?

Im looking for suggestions on brand and grain please.

Thanks in advance.

Mine's a .270, not a .30-06, and maybe you're just looking for factory loads, but handloads have all shot well sub MOA out of mine and are 1/3 the cost of premium ammo.

Are you having problems getting sub now or is this a new rifle and you want a load for it to start?

Mine’s a 300wm and will shoot sub moa 3 shots with federal power shock (blue box).

It's a new rifle. I've been trying to find a factory round that will give me sub moa accuracy and it's been harder than I thought?

I'm shooting from a bench and my S2 has a fixed bipod.

I've tried:
Winchester power max bonded 180gr
Winchester super X in 150&180gr
Remington Core-lokd in 150gr

The best shots were with the Winchester power max bonded 180, but I didn't have the bipod back then, so I was using a rather crappy rest from the range.

I'd get a good rest and start over. If you're just deer hunting, any C&C ammo from CanTire will work fine to start with including the two SP federal loads suggested.

Hornady ELD-X are awesome. I haven’t seen them shoot bad yet out of any caliber.

Unless you’re experienced with the bipod I would ditch it. Better to use a rifle rest or backpack. Use a rolled up coat even. Shoot slowly. Pick one type of ammo and keep at it. If the groups start to shrink its you and not the gun. I don’t know what twist that rifle has but I can’t see why 180’s wouldn’t work out of it.

Thanks for the input. I think I’ll get some of the ones used by weatherby to test out their rifles. I’ve seen some federal SP locally. So I’ll start with this and report back.
