Ammo sale

Yup - and for the amounts of ammo you're ordering when you get $99 worth it's not overweight. Order 3 crates of 1500 7.62 x 39 and its probably overweight; 2 - 3 kg of .22 shells evidently not.

There's a difference between "rules" and "examples used to illustrate the potential application of rules".

Ammunition falls under dangerous goods (1.4) regardless of weight and according to THEIR shipping policy it is exempt from free shipping. Good on you if you managed to scam free shipping on ammo but that doesn't mean your statement about free shipping on the ammo is correct.

I don't really care one way or the other about it. I know that I was called once and informed that ammo was not covered by the free shipping so I cancelled the order (1 flat of 3" black cloud) . The policy is theirs and very much in place: the fact that a less than stellar employee decides to ship it anyway is a bonus for you I guess.

My experience was free with a code. The code was typed in on the check out page.
Since there is a Cabelas locally, the free shipping to the store applied and could be picked up locally.

oh darn!

I am noticing however the .223 buckets work out to 45 cents a round (136.49 after gst for 300 and free shipping i hope hahaha) , the 5.56 independence at tenda works out to .57 cents a round (287.49, after gst and 25$ shipping but you do get 5 cents usd as a rebate after tho)

just some food for thought id share!!!

I bought 4 boxes the last time they were on sale about a month ago. Free shipping over $99. No shipping charge. I've ordered from Cabela's about 4 times this year, each time it was ammo only and I never paid shipping on anything. They even called me once because I'd written my address in wrong, but they never mentioned the shipping price at all. It may be in their terms, but either they don't care because the weight was low enough, or the system isn't adding it properly and it isn't worth it to them to cancel orders or demand the shipping charge.

what is the regular price? I am planning to buy 5000 rounds for my new .22 ar.

Buy a few different rounds first and see which one your new rifle likes best. May shoot them all but at 100 yards you will notice a difference.
I have tried several different rounds but my 10/22 loves the Federal blue box (525 value pack) the best.

Was at Cabelas today to buy some Eley, and saw the Wildcats on sale for $2.99. Picked up 2 boxes for plinking. Go pay for my stuff, and see the total is more than expected. I then see the Wildcat is I think was marked $5.99. I tell the guy that it is marked $2.99 on the shelf. He told me that the sale was over, but would still give it to me at the $2.99. I asked him if I could go run and grab few more so he said go ahead, and so I did! Good deal there. But honestly, the Eley offset any savings though.

Lol saw this post and bought 4 more boxes of CCI AR tactical rounds. It runs so well in all my guns i am buying just CCI rounds with Federal automatch 2nd choice for cheaper practise and new shooters who dont get the good ammo lol.... for value and reliability best in my guns
CCI and federal automatch run better than any other value rounds. Only other rounds ive shot that are equal CCI in mist guns are S&B which groups best of anything from my Norc Bolt action. Still at $24.99 I can't think of a better value for 300 CCI eds.
