Ammo shipping costs - WTF!!!

Invest in reloading as you stated. 45/70 is a cal that factory ammo does not do justice and you can reload mild to wild. I reload 45/70 for less than 30cents a round(I cast though and mostly get free lead)

I just think some sellers don't bother looking into better shipping methods.
I recently abandoned a purchase of some idpa targets from a site sponsor because they couldn't ship one box 400km for less than $90...
I've had a 700lb skid of bullets shipped 2000km for $90.
Okay.... it took 12 days, but c'mon... $90 to ship one box of targets...?
Dealer needs to shop around.. CP isn't the only way you know.

Recently contacted a site sponsor about getting some 45-70 ammo shipped to me here on the East Coast. I was informed it was going to be anywhere from $40-60 to ship up to 2 boxes (that's right, I said boxes of ammo, 20 rds per box!) to me! This is on top of the $40-50.00 per box it costs for the ammo itself. All I can say is WTF!!!! Shipping rates are getting ridiculous, especially for us "have-not" maritimers... I don't reload, but it's BS like this that will cause me to get into reloading. I wonder what the shipping will be for brass, powder, and bullets?? This "ammo shortage" better run its course sooner other than later.

if your close, moncton aint that far, and theres enough gun stores now im sure you can find what ya need between the three canadian tires, doctor deals, green diamond outfitters, albert county outfitters & worlds end warehouse.

Purchase from vendors that ship for free!

You think the east coast is painful for shipping, try living in a remote community in the north!

I have a 45-70 rifle myself, and I will be reloading myself.

I have found through deals with them that Canada Ammo, SFRC, and Budget Shooter Supply all ship primers , powder and ammo for very reasonable prices and do not charge the imaginary "Hazmat " fee.
