Stopped at my local Canadian Tire store in Napanee, Ontario and the ammo shelf is half empty. The posted a few signs that said something like this.... Due to US demand it is difficult to obtain ammo. <-- Not the exact words but thats how I interpreted the sign.

Any other Canadian Tire have this "problem"?

My U.S. friends are reporting .223 at $1.50/rd and .22 bricks at up to $70. Cant imagine ANY ammo coming to Canada until the panic buying abates. I have been waiting for someone to start this thread. BUY YOUR AMMO NOW. Shelves are empty in the States...sniff around you'll see.

Prices on 22 ammo are definitely going up. Blaser 40gr round nose went from $180/5000 last week to $270/5000 this week. CanadaAmmo has been listing their cases at $299. Was able to pick up a few cases of Federal 36gr HP at Reliable at $195/5250.

CTs in Nova Scotia have always been half empty that I have noticed. Doesn't seem as though it is a high priority stock item for them.

guys, the distributors are OUT, yep OUT of a lot of ammo, which means what you see on the shelf is what is available. DO NOT expect to see any, and I mean ANY US made 22 ammo, pistol ammo all calibers and 223 ammo this year. You might not see the crunch until May, but its coming, buy what you want NOW!!! seriously.

many gun shops in the US are closing daily as they can't get anything.

Not raising alarm bells, just telling you what's happening

Stocked up during all the last XMas sales to last till next XMas. 20-30% off for factory and reloading supplies sure was sweet.

You fellow speak of CT like they are a major player in the sales of ammo in Canada, perhaps in rural county's . FS

Actually I was talking about prices from Italian Sporting Goods, CanadaAmmo and Reliable. I think the recent 50% price hike is another sign of low overall supply.

Them and Walmart.

What I like about those places, is that they actually put prices on their products.
Not like the local shop, where you have to ask, and if you're a buddy, you get a fair price.
If not, bend over.:)
