Ammo Subscription?

So are you guys willing to pay for a year up front and then each month take a shipment? or do you expect a dealer to buy you a years worth of ammo and have their money for the ammo tied up for the year along with the space that they pay for to store it for the year?

Maybe an ammo of the month club sorta thing!?! Kinda like wines & cheeses! Would be a great gift from the missus! One of the larger ammo resellers here could organize this easily I would think. Say specify a caliber...... 22 for example and receive a different brick each month. Might be even better if you never knew what was coming, it just shows up & you try it. Otherwise it doesn't make sense ...... if you want the same ammo month after month, buy a case & only pay shipping once.

What I was thinking was a simple standing order for another brick or case whenever they receive another shipment. I would leave a CC on file and a list of acceptable items like Federal 510 or Blaser 0021. That way they don't have to wait for someone to come in an buy it, they could simply ship it out when they get it.

Definitely tough in this current market. I`ve seen this work successfully for other commodities where there is surplus supply. The dealer can schedule out his incoming shipments and inventory to meet monthly commitments plus ad-hoc sales, so theoretically save costs on holding inventory and maybe reduced incoming shipping costs. When supply is tight like it is now, it`s not gonna work unless you have a `friend` at one of the dealers.

If any dealer comes up with this I would definitely be interested in this as well. Sounds like a great deal to me especially that ammo of the month deal. Great way to try new stuff and with 3 boys plus self shooting a brick of 22 is easily a monthly purchase

An ammo of the month thing may or may not be such a great idea. You'd be agreeing to buy a brick of .22's that may not cycle or shoot well out of any firearm you have.
Like devolut says, dealers don't get a shipment of anything, regularly(it was like Christmas any time a truck showed up.). Unless they order it, it doesn't come. Dealers have to pay for everything they get, some of 'em on COD only. One guy backs out for any reason would put an end to any ammo of the month thing.

paying $20 each month just to ship a brick of .22LR is not worth it IMO...

especially when you realize that ammo was crap after shooting a few mags of it

You guys are such killjoys LOL! Let me argue it the other way ....... you end up getting a brick of ammo you've not been able to find and are delighted!
Or ...... you get a brick of ammo you've never tried before & low & behold one of your finicky rifles loves it and you can finally shoot it with some confidence.
For some of us that live in more populated areas and have a better selection of places to buy ...... maybe we can afford to be a little pickier but if you lived in who knows where God's country you'd probably pay $20 shipping on a brick of 22 without batting an eye!
But seriously ..... you're right, there is always a potential downside to it and it might not be for everyone but think of the possible upside!
