ammo suggestion for Savage Mark II

Do you find a difference in any of the SK ammo ? Maybe at different distances ?
So far I've only tried SK Rifle Match (red box), but am curious if it's worth the money to try the other's.
I can only find 500 round boxes, would love to buy the 50 round boxes just to test.

Check out Tesro or Nordicmarksman for the sampler packs. 2 boxes of each (100 rounds) of five pre-selected types in a brick (500 rounds total). From relatively inexpensive to eye-watering prices depending on the contents of the sampler pack.

and yes, 100 rounds is probably a good idea so that you can really give each type a good test.

The best ammo I have found yet in my rifle at 50-100m is Eley Tennex, Lapua Midas+, and Lapua X-act. Tied for second best are Eley Match, Lapua Center-X and SK Flatnose Match. I bought a good supply of the SK Flatnose Match. I am still testing other ammo (RWS Rifle Match S, SK Rifle Match & SK Long Range, Lapua) from 150m to 300+ metres. Some ammo works better and others don't seem to work at all. So far, my rifle detests RWS Rifle Match at any distance, but just loves RWS Rifle Match S at 150 to 300+. Go figure.

So saying, every rifle is different and none of the above is probably useful to you and your rifle specifically. You have to buy it and try it, picking the stuff that works for what you want it to do.

Been occasionally shooting for about 1 year. I have a Savage Mark II .22LR (bought used $300)… loving it so far.
The previous owner commented the rifle seems to like Blazer 40gr.
So far I’ve tested :
Blazer 40gr : shoots very well between 25-50 yards (never tried shooting further yet)
SK rifle match (red box) : shoots very well between 25-50 yards (never tried shooting further yet)
CCi quiet-22 HP : does not shoot consistent groups at 25 yards
CCi 22 short : shoots horrible inconsistent groups at 25 yards

Question : what ammo do you recommend trying for :

Target paper at shooting range : 50 – 75 – 100 yards ?
Pest control on farmland at 25 yards (quiet ammo) : squirrels – groundhogs – raccoons ?
Where can your suggested ammo be ordered online ?

i have the same Mark II so far it loves Federal ammo - both the 38g and 40g (1100 rounds of the 40g and 1300 rounds of the 38g) down the pipe so far. I purchased from Cabelas when they had the 38g on sale for 2.49/50 (2k rounds)
