ammomart powder

It's very close to the original #4831 surplus powder, which was a slow lot of #4350, back in the day and to avoid confusion Hodgdon started calling it #4831 or something to that effect.

The milspec #4831 was a bit faster burning than the ''new manufacture H4831"

I used to use IMR specs for the #48 Nobel and it the results were very close.

Thanks everyone for the info. With the price of components these days hate to throw it out. Thanks again.

I used a fair bit of Ammomart Numbers 48 and 49. Both had similar burning rates, but
#49 was considerably bulkier than was #48, so filled the case more for any given load.
IMHO, they were both a slight bit slower than IMR 4831, but there may have been
more than one lot to work from as well. EE

Just shot the last of my 22 250 rounds that I had loaded with Ammo Mart 44 and 55gr SPSX. Found two more pounds in the cabinet and prepping brass this evening to load more. Sticker on side of container says to use 3031 data. Was using this load to exterminate gophers out to 200 yds last weekend.

Shot up a fair bit of #44 as well. Decent stuff, but throws a pretty interesting muzzle flash.
Especially noticeable in poor light. :) EE.
I have a good supply of 44, still in good shape. I shoot all the "old guy" cartridges - 30-30 32WS, 303 British, 8x57, 7.62x54 and x39, plus others. 44 works in nearly all my old cartridges.

Second the opinion of “interesting” muzzle flash for the #44. Back in ‘86 I was on the range shooting my 22-250 with N44 and the muzzle flash was a flame around 4 feet long expanding out to the size of a volleyball. Had more than a few guys wander over to ask what I had.

Yup, loaded some for a fella in his short 788 carbine - WOW!

I purchased a bulk of 47-S from Ammomart many yrs ago which was basically the same as 4831, at least that was the load weight which I found to work very well producing about equal velocities.
