AmmoSupply.ca is Fully Loaded

Welcome to CGN.
Good luck with the business. It takes guts to start a business, especially in this industry. Guts that some posters here don't have, they like to moan and complain and dump on people while hiding safely behind a random username. Seems people have lots of business advice but don't understand pricing or dealing with suppliers . Some people need to learn to reload or find a lower cost hobby. This is not a wallet friendly sport anyway.
And before any one sh@t talks me, I placed an order today, many other suppliers don't have 9mm, but these guys do.

"Free shipping" will hurt the guys looking to do local pickup. The consumer will be the one who ultimately ends up paying for the shipping in one way or another. I like the idea of transparent shipping, but free shipping sure does give the impression of a good deal.

On the bright side shipping prices will definitely drop as sales volume increases.

Welcome aboard, AmmoSupply. I can guarantee that offering free delivery to locals will result in you guys developing a pretty large customer base in a very short time.

Would you consider Cochrane, Okotoks, and Airdrie to be "local"????

Paul

If I read correctly, you didn't want to staff the operation enough to pick up a phone/ but will hire a bunch of delivery boys???? Your company boggles my simple mind sir....

Honestly, we get it. You have a spur in you ass about these guys, but honestly you can not in anyway have surmised that they intend to hire "a bunch of delivery boys" where did you even get that from? Who even has delivery boys in 2013? They would clearly use a courier service like anyone else shipping parcels. Isn't it a good thing a NEW business is starting up to help bolster a politically unpopular activity? Sometimes I just don't get some people on here...

I'm definitely not sold on the pricing, even with a local pick up. The problem is-We in Calgary here already have so many venders that offer quality ammo, and at much much cheaper prices. If I can offer some friendly positive advise, I would say to dramaticly lower your prices to at least match the other million vendors in Calgary. In the friendliest way possible, any calgarian who sees these prices will probably boycott you for life, by default. I wish you guys the best, but will not be spending my money over there. Thank you. who are all these vendors in Calgary? I can think of 3, the CSS, TSE, and Wholesale....where else is there? Proline? At the moment the TSE has no .22 to speak of, wholesale has some but not a very good selection, not sure about CSS, I love proline and will pay to shop there just because, so I welcome a local bulk ammo specialist.

An update on pricing - we should have completed updating our website pricing by tomorrow morning (Thursday 23rd May). We appreciate all feedback, good and bad! While ammo is indeed a commodity, there are many factors that affect price and we don't expect to be the cheapest out there - although we'll do our best to give you the lowest prices possible. What we do plan to offer is quick and polite customer service, quick shipping (your order will be shipped as soon as we confirm your PAL), and a pleasant website experience. Being new, there's a lot to work on, and we're working on it!

Quick question for you - do you prefer free shipping with slightly higher prices, or lower prices with transparent shipping?

WELCOME AmmoSupply, I would suggest that looking at the big picture in terms of your overall costs is the way to go. If you do local pick up you have to have all the staff/security so it may in fact be better to not go that route. That said you look at how fast the TSE will burn through bulk ammo, or wholesale for that matter and you may want to consider pick on a set schedule. If you do go shipping you should go transparent, that will be better for you in the short term as if you do get some goodies in that the rest of the world wants you won't loose your shirt on it.

Well, you might start with Canadian Tire and Wally Mart. There's a few of them around town and they offer plenty of bulk 22LR when it's available. Then add Bass Pro -- on the odd day. The latter is about the only place to find 20 gauge buckshot in the entire city. TSE had a large stack of reasonably priced 22LR CCI Blazer in stock last week. Hoarders must have hit it. Word gets around and -- poof -- it's all gone.

I notice your site doesn't show pricing per round in Turkish Lira, nor are there any cat videos. I also noticed a distinct lack of scantily clad women or men, and no chat section.
Welcome to CGN.

Ha!

Maybe free shipping, but Discount for pick up.... Just like chinese food (Also out of ammo in an hour)

whats the affect of volume on pricing? for instance, if ammosupply could order a million rounds of 9mm, what would be the price per round to the shooter?

On another note, I cant find any cheap 300 blackout, I would like 1000 rounds of 208 grain and 1000 rounds of 110, could you quote me please?

thanks,
Peter
