Hello

Have a CZ American Combo on the way and looking for ammunition recommendations. Heading to Wholesale Sports this evening to get a variety to test out but looking for any info you can send my way!

Thanks in advance,
Chris

For minute of Gopher American Eagle Hollow Points....
CCI Stingers are a close second, but cost more hence my placing them at Second.
For fun and gopher carnage buy some CCI Quick Shok, they shoot pretty close to Stingers and they draw and quarter gophers with ease.
These are a fragmented bullet ...fyi.

buy one box of each 22LR you can find shoot 2-3 5 shot groups with each brand, shoot at least 10 rounds of each new brand before shooting for groups to to "condition" the bore (some would say clean between each brand but I find it takes the bore longer to set up after cleaning)
pick the one that shoots best

Rabid asks the relevant question which is what is the purpose of the ammo. If you want accuracy from the bench, go to entry level match ammo such as SK Standard Plus. If you're shooting critters CCI will do. If you're plinking pop cans at 25 yards, any ammo will do -- even Remington.

CCI Minimag, Rem Thunderbolt, Fed Gold Match.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the replies.

22lr will be used on a 25-100m range mainly shooting steel targets (plinking) and as trigger and scope training for the 17hmr.

17hmr. Will be used for gophers 25-150m.

I just got a CZ452 and tried the trial package from Tesro. It seems to like the SK and Lapua better than the Eley but the all shot well. Haven't tried the cheaper CCI or Federal stuff yet.

Well gentleman, lots of good info. I am just waiting for my CZ455 to arrive in the mail and will be monitoring is thread. I have a wide variety of stuff on hand and will post results as I get to shoot. I my past experience with my Marlin XT-22VR I had good success with Aquila Standard, RWS Target rifle, SK Standard Plus. The rifle was originally seasoned with 200 shots of Sellier & Bellot Standard and it shots as well as the SK Standard + out of the Marlin. So for anyone that has access to Sellier & Bellot (Canadian Tire $4.99) it is good ammo.
