Was talking to a local store owner today and its getting hard to order reloading stuff. Ammo is still fairly easy from what I heard today

Mostly everything is available locally here. Only thing I had trouble finding were .224 projectiles in 40 grain. But got them locally. None in Ottawa.
right now a few local gun stores still have stock. they are a little oblivious to what's happening in the south, once they run out of stock they will not be able to resupply anytime soon. Lots of stuff available if you know where to look, for now.
This is how Im feeling. I picked up enough to reload 308 for a good while anyway just before this thing went down.
The more I read about whats going down though it seems like next year might be a real hag- thats what I'm worried about. Why would distributors sell to us if they can make bank and sell out stock immediately in the US? Ive started picking up bricks of 22lr every week. Whats the worst that could happen- I dont think Ive ever been angry at myself for having too much ammo.
I've started buying more 22lr than I have been but not like buying a store out of everything. Just an extra brick or two. That said I was going to order a case of blazer before this crap anyway which I got ordered after it hit...lets see if it comes in...
The buying frenzy doesn't seem to exist here except amongst some people on this forum. For myself I can see supplies getting tight once we have to import more from south of the boarder but so far the existing supply chain is operating normally. Unless you run into a store where a CGN hoarder panicked and bought everything they have...

Been buying bricks for years, have more 22 than I know what to do with. (This is not a bad thing)
The shelves look pretty much the same as usual in WM and CT lately, that is only one or two brands to select from.
I will continue to stack.

The only problemI've been having is finding loading components for 223 i.e. bullets, common powders used in 223, and small rifle match primers. Luckily I have a couple alb kegs and 6000 fed small rifle match primers to hold me over till I can scrounge some more. My concern is price increases due to buying frenzies in the states similar to when Obama was elected and when Afghanistan and Iraq wars were going full steam. The price never seems to go back down after supplies return.

Canadian sporting goods dealers seem to be in fairly good shape THIS year. Local stores have a good supply of powder and reloading supplies right now, but 2014 may be a bit different. American made firearms are getting a bit more difficult to import.
I spoke with one of the local owners, and he said that on powder and things, there is an "allocation system" where so much of the supplies are allocated on a yearly basis. He can forsee not too many problems right now, but next year that might change.
It does seem like there is a bit of panic buying in the USA. The larger internet mail order firms are showing out of stock on ammo and reloading stuff, and one dealer who prides itself in "same day shipping" has a notice on their website that they are up to two days behind in orders.
I still have lots of .22 ammo, primers and powder, but a bit more would not hurt------------just in case.
