Mine Mike the same size ! So what now ? Sacrifice a case and get on with annealing ! It’s that SIMPLE !He’s doing it correctly per AMP.
While you only type one code into the machine, AMP's official ##### instructions emphasize that the single case you melt must be highly representative of the whole batch. To do this without wasting brass, they recommend a non-destructive averaging process before analyzing: [1]
- Measure the neck wall thickness of 10 different cases with a ball micrometer.
- Find the mathematical average of those dimensions.
- Select the single sacrificial case that closest matches that average weight and thickness.
This is the annealed brass colour I like to see from the AMP machine.
He just said he LIKES to see itColor does not indicate proper annealing.
Funny, my wife gives the same directions!................And don't go too fast - keep a rhythm ... slow is smooth, smooth is fast ... pause occasionally to let everything cool a bit.
Maybe his aren't? Do they all weight the exact same? I'm simply showing the instructions that AMP provides, and that he's clearly read. What you do is up to you.Mine Mike the same size ! So what now ? Sacrifice a case and get on with annealing ! It’s that SIMPLE !![]()
