[FONT=Times New Roman]I am a recent amputee, with a below the knee prosthetic
I am looking to get back into IPSC shooting. I am curios to know if there are any competitors that have the same as I do.
I am sure that I may not be able to compete this year. If all goes well, I should be able to participate in a black badge course between now and next spring/summer.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

Hi,
I'm a BK in Calgary, shoot steel challenge, 3 gun and this year started PRS. (Used to shoot IPSC in Australia).
As soon as you're comfortable with your mobility jump right in. I will say there are going to be stages you will struggle physically with, for me it's anything below waist that I can't kneel or go prone for.
Shoot me a pm if you have any questions.

Amputee below the knee and one eye, and routinely found at the top of the scoreboard.
Its only a limitation if you let it be.

Was at a 3 gun match years ago,
There was a stage set up like a baseball diamond. You had to run to each base and engage targets while your foot was touching the base.
one of the guys was a below the knee amputee, when he got to the base that required rifle shooting, targets out to a couple hundred yards, he removed his prosthetic, placed it on the base, sat down and used it as a monopod to engage targets at distance.
Technically his foot was on the base...

WE had a fellow that up to last year shot IPSC with us in Alberta that only had one arm. I have shot with a fellow out of Prince George that was paralyzed from the waist down and needed someone to push him. When i was in the NWT one of the guys that shot with us was damaged on the left side both arm and leg. I Halifax i shot with a fellow with a brace on his leg and a claw on one side. In Florida i have shot with a fellow with a peg leg below the knee if i remember correctly. So short answer is yesyou can do it if you have the will.

Yes... That was at Peacemaker National Training Centre, I'm thinkin' 2013/2014(?) IIRC there was a little bit of shoulder shrugging amongst the RO's, but really...
'Shooter met the requirements of the stage..

That amputation might describe you, but it doesn't define you.

IPSC is about shooting fast slowly. I was never the fastest runner but rarely missed. Choosing 9mm meant I was always a minor competitor, but I don't shoot to win - I shoot to improve myself.

Thank you all for your encouragement. I will be getting involved as soon as I can.
I will be continuing with the rehab next week. I have an other goal to work to.
Once again thanks

Shot the CDTSA 3 Gun on Sunday.
This is how I remember it

But this is how it really went...The first targets were surprisingly the most physically challenging of the day.

I got heat rash on my stump, but was more upset about my red dot not being on when I picked up my rifle and taking so many shots to get through that door.

Hey, I am also an amputee, left foot symes amputation and got into ipsc almost 2 yrs ago. So far I've found it a great motivator to keep up mobility and a new reason to push myself to get into better shape. Message anytime.

I to also lost my right leg below the knee 11 years ago and almost lost my life, the loss of my leg has not changed my life style at all,I still hunt hard, trap and fish. You will not have any limitations in anything you want to do but you will have more pride in what you do and certainly appreciate life more
