Guess?
I am just curious how "valuable" my '40s TT33 is? I got it for cheap, and it is great to shoot, but would it be a sacrilege to Armacoat it???

I agree. Not mine, but what do you think??

With SOO many on the market nowadays I don't think your ruining a priceless antique. Personally I'm two toning mine with a brushed finish, custom zebra wood/Hogue finger grips, and all the usual tricks to make these alittle smoother running. Question for berger; whats the hole below the take down clip? Is that a Norc clone?
Cheers!!

Ruin the value of what? There is very little collector value in the TT-33's. Some may be rare but the mis-matched milsurps coming in are just shooters. I think if they run well they are excellent pistols but they are meant to be shot. I do not see the point of gathering a lot of iron mongery just to be put on some sort of display after paying dearly for it.
I tried Alumihyde coating but it wore off. Paint of all discriptions wore off. So far nail polish is the only thing that hasn't:

isn't this the type of thought process that led to most of the enfield/ross etc sporterizing that everyone now wishes never happened....

Will the next generation be posting on messageboards in 70 years #####ing about having to clean up some bubba job some fellow in the 2010's did trying to make his 40's pistol look tactical with armacoat?

I'm not taking sides, and the above photo does look pretty cool. I'm more so just trying to add to the conversation, please dont think im attacking anyone. I havent yet fully made an opinion, but am curious to see everyones.

Who is selling these now? I came across a dealer online that was selling them, but can’t remember who it was. Would be nice to fine one in excellent shape.

I forgot all about the clip and take down. It definitely would wear through the paint....

I am not sure on the hole, as it isn't my pistol. I just found the pic online.
