I have owned an AMT Hardballer (mid 1990's era). They do not work. Stay far away from AMT's, period. There is a reason they went out of business. There was a slide to frame fit issue where it was off by about 1/8". Let's not even discuss the warranty experience. The first round would fire and then the slide would get stuck on the last 1/8" into battery and would not fire. Those AMT's had great features, but mine didn't work.
Also recall reading a self defence story in one of the magazinies. It described the shooter successfully defending himself or if it was his employees with the first shot. The article also described that the gun jammed after the first round and it was an AMT. Great story cause the good guy made it, but smiled about the jam because I know about that problem with AMT's.
I am positive some worked and people are happy with them, and great. Didn't happen for me though and don't wish it on you.
